WHAT A WEIRD THING TO SAY!
It’s plastered across this image from Grand Ledge Ford in Michigan. W hich, for those who don’t know, is just west of Lansing Michigan. So it’s basically in the dead center of the state. It’s not a bo rder town or anything.
I stumbled upon this after the front page did a post about the Continental dying and a guy said he was saving up for a Black Label with the blue interior, so I did a quick autotrader to see what a used version of this 70k+ sedan is going for - apparently 48k, but only if it’s not Canadian.
I wonder what a Canadian one costs.....
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
To be fair, I do know there are challenges with a lot of Canadian cars in Michigan. I’ve had issues trying to buy a car that the mileage conversion from Kilometers just....didn’t match up. Dealer kept saying “don’t worry about it, it’s fine” and I was like....well man, that’s an extra 40k miles, it’s not fine.

That interior color is straight out of 1995.

Does that mean it’s Mexican then?

The comments on that article were killing me, with the Lincoln is really doing well and why can’t Cadillac be like Lincoln, that’s why Cadillac is failing. So just did some very light research and

My 87 Chevy has a blue interior too. What was old is new again.

It’s pretty fantastic in my opinion.

As if that’s a bad thing? Interior colors besides black and grey never should have been dropped in the first place.
Personally, I liked when they were color keyed to the exterior.

Not a bad thing, it's just kind of weird to see an interior that color.

This is interesting info, because I’ve felt that Lincoln has been doing better than Caddy but the sales numbers definitely don’t support that.
I will say it’s only a piece of the puzzle though.
How profitable are each one of those sales? Are those all Escalades? If so Caddy is crushing it. Are they fleet spec livery cars? I dunno.
Everyone always goes “why did they cut this one it was actually selling!” well it wasn’t selling enough then. The production/development/manufacturing cost vs sales is always a magic number. It could be 10k sales have to happen to break even (at a lux manufacturer) or it could be 11,562. If they only hit 11,561 it can stop being profitable at the margin they need to keep going.
Also interesting that, while not a luxury sub-brand, it’s impressive to see that Kia sold over 600,000 cars last year and close to 600k in 2018.
...but not many K900s lol

I see about an even mix. You’re missing the C orsair because you think it’s still just an MKC on a quick glance.
